Silent Treatment

Every once in a while I give my wife the silent treatment.

It’s not because I don’t love her. It’s not because she did anything wrong.

It’s because I’m frustrated inside.

I need time and space to gather my thoughts.

I would rather be silent than say something stupid and something I’d regret.

Don’t speak out of anger and spite. Think before we speak, and if we can’t say something respectfully and calmly, don’t speak at all.

Control our emotions. Keep our cool.

I’m far from perfect and the way I handle certain situations is far from perfect, but it works for me.

This is something I need to work on and get better at, but until then, I’ll let you know when I’m done pouting and ready to speak like a mature adult. 😁❤️
